A group of 40 Bachelor in Architecture students from the 2079 batch recently completed a 5-day educational excursion as part of their course in History of Nepalese Architecture. The excursion took place from 13th Poush, 2080 to 17th Poush, 2080, and was led by Senior Lecturer Ar. Archana Bade Shrestha and Ar. Rupak Dangol.
The students visited Gurung Settlement at Ghandruk, Newari settlement at Bandipur and Tharu settlement at Meghauli. The excursion also included visits to cultural museums at Ghandruk as well as at Meghauli. The expedition offered students with significant hands-on learning experience in nepalese architecture, as well as the opportunity to observe firsthand the society, space, construction processes and materials used in the local community.
