A session hosted by Department of Electronics, Communication and Automation Engineering took center stage at the Khwopa Engineering College on February 16, 2023. The session brought together industry professionals, academics to discuss the advances in the field of Field-Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGAs).
The session began with a keynote speech by Er. Deepesh Man Shakya, a renowned expert in FPGA and Senior Staff Product Application Engineer at AMD. He spoke about FPGA technology and how it has evolved over the years. He highlighted the benefits of FPGAs, including their flexibility, re-configurability, and ability to handle complex processing tasks. He also discussed the latest trends in FPGA design, development and deployment.
Vice Principal, Er. Rabindra Phoju gave vote of thanks and Head of Department Er. Yogesh Bajracharya hand over token of love to guest lecturer. In addition Er. Phoju spoke about involvement of the college students in FPGA related final year projects and actively participating in FPGA design competitions.
The students from fourth, sixth and eight semester of the Electronics, Communication and Automation Engineering Department actively attended the session. Attendees left the session feeling inspired and energized, ready to take on the opportunities of rapidly evolving field.
Prior to the presentation there was a productive conversation regarding the possibility of establishing a programmable chips lab at college in collaboration with Xilinx (which is now part of AMD). Additionally, opportunities for research collaborations between Khwopa Engineering College and universities in Ireland were also discussed.
