Associate Professor Sujan Maka (Principal, Khwopa Engineering College) offered his final remarks about the need for study and intent of Bhaktapur Municipality in an interaction program on prospective higher studies of the faculties, organized at Khwopa Engineering College. He also shared the above relevant Chinese proverb in the program organized by the Department of Civil Engineering. The program was focused on the discussion on the academic enhancement of the college faculties. The Ph.D. graduates and candidates shared their experiences in the program.
Associate Professor Sunil Duwal (Principal, Khwopa College of Engineering) shared about his ongoing study with Kathmandu University and the various funding organizations such as the University Grant Commission and Nepal Academy of Science and Technology.
Professor Dr. Raju Bhai Tyata (Khwopa College of Engineering) shared his experience and talked about the scope of study, practical and routine aspects of our endeavors. He also stressed basic skill requirements and the need to identify our strengths and weaknesses.
Associate Professor Chandra Kiran Kawan (Khwopa College of Engineering) briefly talked about his efforts from inception to completion and offered his suggestions on acquiring software/tools, computational, write-up, analysis, and basic research skills as we plan for further studies.
Ph.D. candidate Sudip Karanjit (Senior Lecturer, Khwopa Engineering College) shared his experience and emphasized thorough and careful literature review, interaction with a potential guide, and availability of funding and resource. Senior Lecturer Dr. Subeg Man Bijukchhen (Khwopa Engineering College), a Ph.D. graduate from Hokkaido University (Japan), shared his experience on data scarcity, learning curve, and identification of research gap. Similarly, Senior Lecturer Dr. Manjip Shakya (Khwopa Engineering College) shared his experience at Aveiro University (Portugal) as well as his efforts during the initial phases of his Ph.D. endeavors.
A number of queries were addressed by the key speakers of the program during the Question-and-answer session.
