A three-membered team headed by Nepal Engineering Council Member Professor Er. Triratna Bajracharya (Ph.D.) along with council member Er. Kiran Chandra Dahal and Er. Sanjeeb Khanal visited Khwopa Engineering College (KhEC) and Khwopa College of Engineering (KhCE) on Bhadra 9, 2078. Er. Sujan Maka, Principal, KhEC and Er. Sunil Duwal, Principal, KhCE, along with vice-principals of the respective colleges, welcomed the team in the college. Necessary information and documents of the colleges were handed to the team during the visit.
Er. Sujan Maka said,-"KhEC is dedicated to imparting quality engineering education with affordable fee. NEC has provided valuable suggestions to improve the quality of education to the college during annual visits and via evaluation reports in past. Remarkable improvements have been done in the college since the last observation visit by NEC."
Er. Sunil Duwal extended a vote of thanks to the team members and NEC for providing approval to conduct BE computer program for 48 students in KhCE from the last observation visit. He explained, - "Students in KhCE are conducting their project works in cutting edge technology such as AI. KhCE is providing necessary support to students."
Prof. Dr. Triratna Bajracharya said,-"This is a regular observational visit to the colleges. All team members are well familiar with KhEC and KhCE. Both the colleges are the best-affiliated colleges in their respective Universities. Physical infrastructure and human resources are well shared on the premises. These colleges should share their good practices with other colleges as well. The policy should be revised to avoid resource duplication and being stand idle."
Er. Kiran Chandra Dahal, a member of the team, was impressed with the human resources and physical infrastructure of the college. He said, - 'I have visited dozens of engineering colleges in Nepal. When I enter the premises of KhEC and KhCE, I experienced the true academic institution providing university education. Human resources and infrastructure of the colleges made the environment suitable for students who pursue to become engineer/architect.'
Er. Sanjeeb Khanal, another member of the team, shared light in the documents and reports provided. He was impressed with the changes in both colleges since his last visit. "The team will continue to visit, evaluate the reports and documents provided, and submit the evaluation sheet to NEC. NEC board meeting will decide to approve for the continuation of the college.", he added.
Vice Principals, HoDs, faculty members explained the current status of the college, departments, sections, respectively. The observation team paid special interest to the digital infrastructure of the college to make online classes effective during the COVID-19 pandemic, especially, touchscreen pads, internet facilities, GPU, 3D printers, etc.
