Khwopa Engineering College organized a guest lecture on “AI and Emerging Technologies for Sustainable Future” on August 9, 2021. Dovan Rai, Ph.D. in computer science and AI in education presented a generic introduction about Artificial Intelligence (AI). Total 130 participants of the fifth semester, seventh semester, and recently passed out students of Electronics and Communication Engineering and Computer Engineering participated in the program. Ms. Rai discussed the application of AI in the present context. AI is one of the most demanding technology at present but it has already been explored since 1950. With the successful advancement of deep learning and rapid growth in technology, AI is emerging as a big deal in the present context. She also gave a brief introduction to emerging technologies such as IoT, Robotics, Blockchain, and augmented reality. At the same time, there may be some threats to AI. She concluded that in the long run education and self-development will be some of the most impactful applications of AI.
During the program Vice Principal, Rabindra Phoju emphasized rapid growth in human capacity as the growth to technology is skyrocketing. He suggested attending various presentations and study about different technologies. The program was hosted by Migma Joshi. Department head of Electronics and Communication, Yogesh Bajracharya gave the welcome speech, and Department head of Computer, Bikash Chawal thanked the guest and all the participants for making the program successful.
A series of guest lectures have been conducted by the college. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, physical activities have been limited but due to the advancement of technology, different guest lectures are possible and the college has already invited different guests from around the globe.
