The 5-day educational excursion was conducted for the batch of 2075 Bachelor in Architecture students for the partial fulfilment of course subjects Vernacular Architecture (elective I) and Energy Efficient Building Design (elective II) in Pelunga Village of Thumki, Rupa Gaunpalika, Kaski District, which is about 30 minutes by bus east of Rupakot Resort. Senior Lecturer Ar. Archana Bade Shrestha, Lectuer Ar. Sunaina Shakya, and part-time faculty Ar. Udvash Puri led the tour with 31 students. Students visited the village of the Brahmin/Chettri caste group, which consisted of oval-shaped dwellings known as "Ghumaune Ghar." The research in the village was followed with a questionnaire survey, measurements of oval houses, drone photographs, and temperature and humidity tracking. Furthermore, the excursion was more interesting with the visit to the International Mountaineering museum at Pokhara and Annapurna view Resort at Sarangkot.
