Faculty and students from the Department of Electronics and Communication at Khwopa Engineering College showcased their innovative research at the Conference on Innovation in Computing, Science, Engineering, and Technology (ICSET-2024), held on August 30, 2024, at the Lemon Tree Premier in Budhanilkantha, Kathmandu, Nepal organized by Nepal College of Information Technology.
One of the highlighted papers was on the "Design and Testing of VHF Eggbeater Antenna," presented by Sunil Dangol, with contributions from Susan Hyogoju, Bindeshwor Kumar Sah, Sarbagya Buddhacharya, and Sirash Sayanju. This research focused on optimizing antenna performance for satellite communication, offering valuable insights into enhancing antenna technology.
Another notable presentation was on the "Automated Attendance System Using FPGA Based on Face Recognition," delivered by Mohan Lal Shrestha and Pujan Thapa, with support from Prabhat Tiwari and Ranjan Thapa. This paper introduced an advanced system designed to automate attendance tracking through real-time face recognition, promising significant improvements in efficiency and accuracy.
The third paper, presented by Rashi Tamrakar, covered the "Design and Testing of Low-Cost MEMS Accelerometer on 1D Shake Table." This research, conducted with contributions from Yojana Sapkota, Roshni Khadka, Aarati Yadav, Subeg Man Bijukchhen, and Yogesh Bajracharya, highlighted an affordable approach to seismic research by utilizing a low-cost MEMS accelerometer, demonstrating practical applications for studying seismic activity.
