The Electronics and Communication Engineering department organized an orientation program for 7th semester students on Tuesday, the 22nd of Shrawan. The program was attended by the Head of the Electronics and Communication Engineering Department Er Yogesh Bajracharya, Er Arjun Raut, Er Krishna Prasad Phelu, Dr Sarbagya Buddhacharya and other 7th semester lecturers and students.The orientation covered from the importance of elective subjects in the syllabus to project selection, proposal, and report.
During the orientation, Er Arjun Raut explained the importance of microwave device circuits and systems in the electronics and communication engineering curriculum. He highlighted the importance of this subject is for telecommunications, transition radar systems, 4G, and 5G, as well as its benefit in the communication field. He highlighted electives are the backbone of telecommunications.
Similarly, Er Krishna Prasad discussed the need of electives for students of electronics. He discussed several job prospects in the backdrop of Nepal. He mentioned that government jobs require both theoretical and practical understanding. He also talked about private jobs, which require additional skills and knowledge. A student can also create their own business, which requires vision, interpersonal relationships, and communication skills.
Dr. Sarbagya Buddhacharya discussed the distinction between research and non-research degrees for final year project. He also showed how research had a broad and significant impact on things. He also explained why we should choose project ideas that pique our interest and curiosity, as well as the importance of literature reviews. He stated that students must complete the task such as data collection, analysis, and obtaining old references for their reports prior to conducting research.
The ceremony was ended by Er Yogesh Bajracharya, Head of the Department of Electronics and Communication. He encouraged students to pursue research topics that have an impact on society, build on the legacy, and strive for even greater accomplishments while meeting college requirements. He encouraged the students to participate in training and workshops and to take their studies seriously because the seventh semester is a turning moment in their academic careers.
